I have done one. They are actually based on the future line that you are currently on when you have the progression. You can change it at any time.
You get a good feel for what life would be like from the point that you are at, and you can decide whether you like the fit or not. It's quite subjective though.
I was making an independent film at the time and I got to see how it would have turned out, responses and such.
I wound up not making it, but I learned a great deal from the progression and then the things that prevented it from coming true.
