. Sometimes yes, but I like conversation too. Honestly she can go 8 or 9 hours with minimal response from me. I do try but after awhile my brain goes numb and it just turns into white noise.

To be fair Hal, I think probably 95 % of the population of husbands can empathize with you. I know my poor husband would probably give you a supportive brotherly hug if he could.
He would almost be able to "taste" your despair !!!!!!!
So , I don't think we are any further forward are we from the start of the thread ??

Haha...and I know it was ( mainly) light-hearted.
And we've covered just about everything ( short of cutting her tongue out ) ....as a last ditch I was going to suggest you pretend you've gone deaf and get some fake hearing aids ( would help block out the noise of the chatter) but then I realised she would only talk a lot louder LOL..so scrap that idea!!
On a more serious note, I do know, and it has become evident over the years how much you care about her.
So how about this...
Everytime she's starts to "chatter" and you KNOW it's going to be a long haul job you do this one simple thing.
You shut her up by giving her a lovely kiss ? |

I usually say that with a box of candy, flowers and theatre tickets. And if that doesn't work how about a ten day cruise in the Mediterranean. And if that doesn't work? Well That last one has always worked. But of course it is assumed that the female is above average in looks, wit, intelligence, charm and demeanor.
Of course if she is all those things she wouldn't want anything to do with me in the first place. Help!!! I've posted myself into a corner and I can find a way out..... Yikes!!! |
