I wish I knew what you meant, but the last verse of the Shiva Panchakshara Stotram always sets me off spiritually..."Yaksha Swaroopaya Jata Dharaaya...Pinaka Hasthaaya Sanatanaaya...Divyaya Devaya Digambaraaya...Tasmai Yakaraya Namah Shivaaya".
This relates to Lord Shiva's cosmic, Universal form on the macro level.

I also don't know what is meant, since 'set you off', usually means someone triggered you to anger.
However, if it means makes your heart soar, lights you up spiritually, super inspires you...
any truth spoken, so sat sang...places my brain into Alpha, if anyone knows about that.
Devotional expressions, praises from those that know God, in any form...
so often poetry from lovers of God throughout time. :)

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru.

Rant end, the pusillanimity of the spirit - "forgive".
Exaltation end, elevation of awareness - "affinity"
Well...maybe.

Pusillanimity? Love it!
I have a very vast mental lexicon of words and their meanings, and that one has never made it on to my radar before..Thank you!

As Miss Hepburn duly noted, "set you off" usually does mean that some one triggered you either to anger or, I would add, "tuning out". What sets me off in the "tuning out sense" is when some one says that their way is the "only way". It may very well be the ONLY WAY FOR THEM PERSONALLY, but that sets an immediate red flag for me in dealing with them.
In the other sense, what inspires me is my mantras and/or affirmations that trigger mental associations that eventually lead to the "high" of stillness and the "peace that surpasseth all understanding". Certain prayers, kirtans, hymns, bhajans also have an inspirational impact in the appropriate moment. Lastly, reinforcing or life-transforming stories/words of self-realized beings are equally inspirational. Of course, my practice and direct validating experiences are the ultimate.

Beautifully written.
What sets me off in the "tune out" sense, are those who relate comparative "spirituality" to the way I act or behave..eg, I might lose it for 5 minutes and yell at somebody. Now, I don't do that very often, hardly ever, but I will always get "you can't be a spiritual person if you act that way... spiritual people don't yell at others" to wit, I go; okay, so I am not "spiritual" then, now go away and leave me alone.
What inspires me, is like what Still Waters posted above...A beautiful bhajan or Kirtan, some mantras like the Sri Rudram, words from Haidakhan Babaji, watching the Wayang Kulit puppet Play in Javanese recalling tales from the Mahabharata, listening to inspirational people on YouTube like Matt Kahn and Peter Marchand and remembering the words and works of Harish Johari. Reading Rabindranath Tagore..and also my own personal experiences, which are also the ultimate.
