The first time I saw POWDER was the day before Halloween when I was living in a yoga retreat in Southern Califonria. Once a month we'd get to watch a film -- and POWDER has a slight Halloweenish feel to it (it was a stretch).

I ended up watching the film again a year or so later.

I heard that the writer of the film based much of it on the classic book "Comsic Consciousness."

I found it interesting that his "powers" were mainly do to with magnetism. In Vedic philosphy our current age is all about electricity and atomic energy, while the next age will be all about magnetism.

So you get the impression from that film, that Powder was a little ahead of his time.

What did you think about the scene with the deer?

I really loved that movie and I've seen it about 3 times now. There were so many things in it that I could relate to, the being 'different', being an 'outsider', feeling and wanting more than the majority blah blah blah.

Really enjoyed the 'redneck' guy having a big change-of-heart after Powder helped him 'feel' what the dying deer was feeling. Having a functioning Hear Chakra in everyone would change the world overnight!

My favorite has to be the ending however, with all the main cast running in the open field after Powder. He connects and is poof....gone! The rest of them all got to experience his ascension and feel what's possible. Good stuff.
