Pointing out what you think is bad is not stating facts, it is simply saying that you think some things are bad. Opinions are not facts, they are just opinions.

That is true, but was it just an opinion that there was such a thing as the dark age ?.

I think there are positive and negative aspects to just about everything. New Age has it's problems as well, no one is perfect. I don't believe in a future world where we'll finally have everything worked out. Once we get past one problem, a new problem always pops up. Things like fundamentalism don't just pop up out of nowhere. In order to adopt a mindset of hate people have to be unhappy. The Jewish people were being oppressed for hundreds of years and wondering when it all was going to end. Then people like the apostle Paul show up and say 'here is the answer!'. It gives us a sense of comfort in the midst of sorrow to believe to have found the 'missing truth' that no one else can see. Then the idea spreads to others who are hurting and looking for answers. The only answer I can see is to try to work on out our own personal pain and issues so we have less hate to leave to our children.

Yes well said, and as Paul said, "work out your own salvation...".

Erm - actually Buddha said that, not Paul. Buddha said it when his physical body was dying. I don't think Paul ever said anything like that at all.

Paul did say it, but it sounds like he was trying to tell other people that and not himself. He thought everyone should believe like him, that his answer was everyone elses answer. It seems like that sometimes, but actually there are many different faiths and ways of believing.

Yes he did: Philippians 2:12
Therefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

So in other words, "It was easy for you when I was around to show you the way, but now you're going to have to work hard at it since I'm not there." Just curious, what does that sound like to you?

Well that's really what it means, but I don't think it means just his way, like his way is his, not my way or your's, as Jesus said, "I am the way", he was talking about his inner Divinity, the Christ Consciousnesses, not his way as the man Jesus.
