Incarnated guides,

So I have heard about guides being incarnated to help us sometimes.
My question is, do they know they are guides or do they think they are like us but happen to feel certain extra responsibility over certain people?

They can come to you in the form of a friend or family member, telling you what you need to hear at the right time and place. Just as you may be a guide to someone else in you life, we each teach and learn and grow from each other. I guess if you know you're a guide you wouldn't be as helpful if you were just being yourself to help another... being that many people are kind hearted and will treat others this way when such opportunities arise.
