December 21, 2012-the Mayan calendar

I wasn't sure what forum to post this in, so if it needs to be moved, please do so. But I wanted to post my thoughts on the December 21, 2012 and Mayan calendar phenomenon, and get everyone else's insights into it.

Most people who believe in the phenomenon, believe that it signals the end of the earth, but I disagree, and here's why. Other than the calendar itself, we only have one other piece of information from the ancient Mayan tablets that speak of this date. All it says is that nine gods will return. But it doesn't say why. It could be to destroy the earth, but it could be much more benevolent. I lean toward the latter, and here's my reasoning. The fifth cycle, the current calendar cycle, started, if I'm not mistaken, in 3100 BCE. If the fourth cycle was to be an end and a new beginning, with destruction, followed by rebirth, we would have more evidence of it. However, whatever happened to signal the end of the fourth cycle, was not destructive. Think of how many civilization were around then, with basically no disruption of their lives. The Chinese, the Indian, the Egyptian, etc. We have no records, to my knowledge, that anything catastrophic happened then. So my belief is that the end of the this fifth cycle, on Dec. 21, will not be a destruction, but an awakening, a renewal of man's spirituality, a progression into a new age of human spirituality. Any thoughts?

Yes, it looks like we are in our process of collective awakening pulling our fears out to look at them and release it. The release can include any size of idea.
The outer world is really an reflection of the inner world and any event is just an marker of your consciousness, in the same way it's in a dream you have at night. It can be any symbolism in the outer world that is reflecting the change of our inner world - planet constellations, calenders, natural disasters, end of the ET-quarantine etc.

Given that it is a reflection of the inner, you can ask yourself where are you going? Do you feel you are on an enlightening path? or one of misery? In the end that is what you are going to experience in the world. For one person the crashing of a stock market is a reason for suicide while for the other person it's a sign of sanity waiting around the corner.

Maybe it's easier to simply try the other end? Until now I've not heard of a consistent explanation why the 'world' is going to end.

My Maya the Bee calender ran out in 1994 - it wasn't the end of the world, it was the threshold from kindergarten to elementary school.
