I went to my family doctor when I had symptoms like that. It was literally disabling to have untreated depression.

The doctor was able to help me get onto a program of medication that actually works. I'm among the people whose body chemistry goes wrong if it's left to its own devices. There are multiple kinds of medication that will help that chemistry get back to where it belongs.

My only regret was trying to "tough it out" too long before going to the doctor. I could have saved myself a lot of suffering if I'd gone sooner.
