pineapple and acv for colds?
i have a nasty chest cold (could be bronchitis but i don't have a fever though that's norm with me) and HATE antibiotics.
a friend in the UK that used to be a holistic healer (and now ironically works in online marketing with me haha) suggested raw fresh pineapple - core and all. he said to either just skin it and cut it up or if the core is too tough, use a blender and make a pulpy juice/smoothie out of it. i love pineapple so i figured eh why not? i just didn't know if anyone else had heard of this. it's due to the bromelain enzyme and high vitamin c content in the pineapple and raw is best as it is in the highest amounts there when unprocessed. i haven't been able to find much on the internet other than a random mention here and there, but i do love pineapple so why not? beats antibiotics. anyone else heard of this?
i'm also taking higher amounts of zinc and echinachea of course, which helps. and using apple cider vinegar (acv) in water several times a day. i've heard it helps with weight loss but also helps balance out the pH in your system when you have a cold to help your body heal faster.
i'd love to hear feedback on either of these (or any other) remedies! and i'll let you know how it works. i've been sick since mid-week but was taking it easy and didn't mind using a sick day fri. today however i'm committed to getting better so trying these in full force!
