lol you're always finding crazy theories about anything!!

Simply: No! Please, stop believing and broadcasting stories people tell, they serve the people who write them, when they are not just the product of people's imagination.

I have one true story that happened to me. At school, when I was 12-13, two young teachers seemed to be very close. Everyone could see it, but that was it.
Then, at a break, a friend of mine came, she was super excited, jumping everywhere, and wanted to have breaking news, if any.
I joked: "we've seen the teachers kissing!"
But she didn't take it as a joke, and jumped back to tell the news before I could say anything. That girl was very popular so, in an instant, all the school knew the thing, it became official.
A few days after that, the news came to the teachers, and they were quite mad (officially let's say, now I find the story quite cute!) that people were telling rumors about them.
And then they kept their distance, that was sad. And I've been super embarrassed, because it all came from a joke that wasn't understood!

If you transpose that to the adult world, someone could have joked "I saw him touching her" (meaning: he was less than 1m from her!), and a feminist telling the story "he is abusing her!".

This is what it is all about!

I guess it depends how people define the word "enlightenment." To me, it just means some degree of self awareness and knowledge so that can vary from a little to a lot and also vary from somebody fully committed to "it" and others who just dabble in it.

The robotics unit of SoftBank, a Tokyo-based technology investor, has produced humanoids clothed in the vestments of the Buddhist clergy. They are programmed to chant sutras, or Buddhist scriptures, and give public teachings or talks depending on the sect of the attendees. AI software with voice and facial recognition capabilities enables them to conduct either one-on-one or group discussions on the teaching of the Buddha. They will not deviate from the dharma.

But then a teaching is not the dharma. The dharma is a realization. A robot can only repeat words they have been programmed to say. They can't realize the ultimate nature of reality or themselves as no consciousness is present in them.

Adyashanti, Gangaji are enlightened masters who were practitioners of Buddhism.

Gangaji practiced Zen and Vipassana in an early period of her life. I think these early practices prepared her for deeper meditation and enlightenment later on.

I forgot about them. Wasn't thinking they were Buddhist...but of course they would fit the bill!!!
What I kinda got was they expanded, encompassing more than just Buddhist thought...
making them even better teachers!
I was lucky to see Adya in Boulder, CO. We ALL are so lucky because of all the books and youtubes on both of them.
(Just an aside, I have noticed when teachers open the floor to questions --many mentally challenged ask
questions regarding their troubled lives, even monopolizing the microphones...with,
"But what about this and that and this and that and that and this..."
See? You got tired just reading that! )
Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it - but be prepared they may have discontinued Q and A.

I am glad that you have met Adyashanti.
I found his teachings to be very insightful.

"Realization" is a matter of belief. The dharma is "episteme" presented as "gnosis" by practitioners of Buddhism.

We all repeat words we were programmed to say the day we were born.

Consciousness confers an ability to respond to stimuli (i.e. words).

Yes it is a matter of belief. You have to believe someone is ''enlightened'' and that at some point they were not, and something allows them to be ''enlightened''. It usually refers to someone who will no longer ''incarnate'' and has ''infinite knowledge and wisdom''. This should be easy to test as you could ask them to do a difficult test and if they give the wrong answers then they are not enlightened.

I do not believe there is a single human on this planet that is ''enlightened''. Just people that had a glimpse of what's beyond..
