buddha/bodhisattva of trash?
I remember someone told me of a buddha/bodhisattva of filth/trash who would build up metta by taking bad karma upon himself to cleanse it for others. Anyone know who I am talking about?

A bodhisattva is an individual who is capable of attaining Nirvana, yet who remains here, compassionately leading others to enlightenment. What you describe seems out of character because it is not possible to "take bad karma... to cleanse it for others". Karma is the direct result of ones actions. If someone else acts in a way that incurs bad karma, that is their karma and nothing I or anyone else could do would nullify the consequence of their actions.
