The basic: nam-myoho-renge-kyo
Hello everyone,
I had a very interesting conversation, he went to explain that, the chant nam-myoho-renge-kyo changes your karma?? He went on to say, if you're dealing with anything negative, something perhaps you;re bringing towards you, this chant blocks that and re aligns to quickly to the positive things. Is this so. He also went on to say, that you can be of any faith/doctrine and this still would work..At this time I am researching lots of things, because I have been dealing with lots of mess, negative things. Either I'm creating it, cause it comes easy and blocks the good. Just looking for clarity on this Thank you all for your responses.

hello almondeyez.
Don,t be afraid of karma. When reading your post ,it inferred that karma has an external source. That it is separate and coming from somewhere unknown. That it can be blocked. This is not the case. Karma is not so mystical as to be unfathomable.Karma has exact and unchanging qualities.karma is an unseen teacher and is infallible. We ask a question through our actions and if we have enough awareness we can recognize the answer when it comes back and that is karma on a personal level.karma is never a punishment or reward . For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction .

Is it possible that we can be nice, but have a negative ora through bad experiences, and by lack of knowledge? Can this be changed? Most time people say what goes around comes around twice as harder. But what if you don't deserve it, and through your bad experiences, you're getting the domino effects. Is this possible as well? Thank you

Hello Almondeyez.
You don,t have a negative aura.I think though you my have a negative mind set for whatever reasons. It is for certain that a negative mind set will attract negativity and this can have a domino effect. My advise would be to be aware of a tendency to feel negativity, and this in turn results in a subtle negative vibration emitting from you and thus attracting negativity, whether you are a nice person or otherwise. It s not a question of seeing the glass half empty or half full but of seeing the glass and there is water in it. It is possible to change in an instant but just in case ,start at the beginning. Perhaps begin by finding a teacher with whom you resonate .

Hi almondeye,
Karma means" intentional action" (and the result of that action is called kamma-vipaka).
Chanting doesn't change our intentions or our actions, but developing a caring, positive and non- superstitious attitude does. This excellent talk from Ajahn Amaro on YouTube will explain all you need to know about the concept of karma in Buddhism.
