Spaewives

I realise I haven't been here in a while. For that I apologise.

I once posted in a thread a while back asking about where we had all learned healing.
I mentioned that my Great Great Grandmother was a Spaewife. For those that don't know, a Spaewife was a woman who was a healer, a midwife, and someone you went to if you needed protection from evil entities or spirits.
They also were gifted with The Sight.
They are, in essence, the same as the Norse Volva.
These abilities missed my Granddad, my Dad and my Uncle and were passed on to me, and will possibly pass to my little sister when she's older.
So, I'm wanting to learn more about my abilities. My Great Great Grandmother has obviously long since passed away, and my Great Grandmother never passed on any details about her Grandmother. She only told my Gran when my Gran told her that I was practising Witchcraft.
So I'm essentially starting from scratch here, and I wish to learn and really improve on the abilities passed on to me by her.

Are there any books/links to webpages that might be of use?

What exactly is it that you want to learn Lilyth - healing (what kind of healing), being a midwife (in which case there are courses you can take for that) or protecting people from evil entities and/or spirits (again you can train with someone for that, too and/or take courses)

Have you tried to connect to your great-great grandmother? Or maybe you have a friend or relative who can speak to her? It might be nice to have her tell you herself what it is she did, why she didn't pass it on, and what you need to know.

I know where youre coming from lilyth. Its hard being norse pagan these days and even harder if you have natural skills and no idea what to do with them. I live in the worst city and finding any kind of mentor is impossible here let alone one in a specific field. There are plenty of frauds though. So we're left to our own devices which doesnt include much considering how much effort went in to eliminating as much of our faith as possible.Still, I get my most useful information from the gods themselves. Im new here so idk how the forn sed community is but if you ever wanna talk Im always happy to engage in this topic :p
