how to get result

pariyatti patipatti pativedha

theory and practice (conduct, behavior)

to put what we understand, wisdom from outside, into practice

both theory and practice are important, to get the desired result,

theory means understanding, point of view, knowledge from books or others, or our wisdom through life experience, contemplation, etc

practice means, our way of life, our deeds, speech, and mind, behavior, conduct, what we do, etc

how to get the right result, in pali pativedha

someone should know, the right theory
and should do the right practice,

The words of the Buddha (Dharma) consists of three aspects , the
Doctrinal (Pariyatti), the Practical (Patipatti) and the Realisable (Pativedha). The doctrinal aspect are preserved in the Scriptures called Three Pitakas/Baskets of the Canon. Imo they link together, starting with Buddha's Teachings which you put into practise and see them become your reality......

I was thinking the other day about how religions have these simple numbers of things, like the eightfold path (8), the ten commandments (10), God as Trinity (3), Dharma consists of three aspects (3).

I was thinking it would be funny if religions had huge numbers instead, like the 1,103 fold path, the 9,378 commandments, God as 47,332 parts, Dharma consisting as 237 aspects.

I was thinking humans like simplicity and easy to understand stuff so tend to always break things down to simple numbers. I don't think reality is actually that simple. But I think human beings accept things in simple numbers. Like there are these 3 things, these 12 things instead of there are these 457,387 things. They say there are seven (7) Chakra's. What if there are 2,394 Chakra's! People would not be as interested I don't think.

"to put what we understand, wisdom from outside, into practice"

Something like that I think too is a simplification. One can understand understanding, wisdom from "outside" is always deciphered by whatever is inside so are we seeing what is outside or inside?, practice assumes one type of practitioner and the natures and structures of the one who practices can be completely different.

In some ways, "practice" can just be the sum result of all existing realities in the present moment that converge in a moment of time to produce an experience and perhaps a corresponding internal word based commentary on it.

there are 37 Bodhipakkhiya dhamma, also

84,000 dhammakkhandha

Sutta pitaka = 21,000 dhammakkhandhas
Vinaya pitaka = 21,000 dhammakkhandhas
Abhidhamma pitaka = 42,000 dhammakkhandhas

82,000 dhamma from the Buddha I have received;
2,000 more from his disciples;
Now 84,000 teachings are familiar to me.

— the Venerable Ananda,
in Theragatha 17.3 (vv. 1024-29)

"to put what we understand, wisdom from outside, into practice"
we understand is wisdom from inside, our own understanding, knowledge or wisdom, or contemplation,
wisdom from outside is what we heard, knowledge from others, second-hand opinions,

in this teaching everything needs theory and practice to get a result not only dhamma, or how to attain Nibbana,
even when you may say you do not have any theory because you are an autodidact,

to be a good driver, you need theory and practice
to be a swimmer, you need both theory and practice,
even when someone thinks I don't have any theory in swimming, actually they have an understanding or knowledge of how to swim,
the knowledge of how to drive and how to swim, arise in him, he knows by himself what is a wheel for, and what is a brake for, maybe he got it from outside, or he tried it himself, he should have the knowledge or theory, to get result

We are much much more than just tiny human bodies.

Contained in each one of the hundreds of trillions of DNA in our own body, among other things, is an huge library of all our personal cosmic and Earthly wisdom, knowledge, experiences, and truths.

But while in the human form the non-human part of ourselves placed a restriction to greatly limit access to that huge library so we could have our human adventure to see if we could find our true selves when dumbed down spiritually and given free will.

In other words, we have on purpose made our human selves to temporary forget most of what we truly know.

Love is the key to gaining greater access to our huge personal library and start to remember all that we know.

Love that encompasses compassion, benevolence, and joy is our true nature. As oppose to our false nature which is our ego.

When we sincerely choose love over ego it shifts us to higher frequency of vibration and expands our consciousness, unlocking the restrictive access to our personal library within and begin a benevolent process to enhance our DNA to have extra-ordinary abilities we all can have that will give us far more control over our body’s health, our life, and our reality.

There is a Bible verse which alludes to that: Seek first the Kingdom of God (love) and God’s righteousness (love) and all things will be added to you.

Then it should be no surprise all spiritually advance and connected human messengers here throughout the ages uniformly taught people a better way of living life that aligns with love.

Love is the universal Truth, the way, and the life.

Love is the most powerful and highest vibration multi-dimensional quantum energy and more.

What some call God is pure unconditional love.

A piece of God is within all of us that is love. God and us are not separate. We are all extensions of God.

It has always been about love. Love is the key to all our human problems.

The big question is, could we work our way to uncover that love within which is heavily cloaked by our ego that shuns love for survival and then express that love to all through compassionate action.

If we could we then will return to being in alliance, in unity, and in Oneness with what some call God that is the much bigger part of us not here in the human form.

As more and more people choose love, peace on Earth will gradually become our new reality.

And peace on Earth is not humanity’s final goal, but rather it is the pre-requisite to far more benevolent things to come.

What kind of 'Love' would solve Humans problems ?
Just curious, the way I see things is there are many types of 'love' and interpretations of what love is. Loving oneself is extremely important but I know some see self love as being egoistic and 'ego' as a problem, I personally don't.....

I would agree with OldChap #7.

Love as in agape love, unconditional, all-encompassing, nonjudgmental, the light of the sun, the fragrance of a flower, the heart of God.

About the plethora of spiritual paths and practices, in my view we can work on a first-principle basis actually.

We feel incomplete. We observe head and heart standing apart. Taking head as ego (identity) and heart as love, which we intuitively recognise as such, we choose to meld head with heart in silence. What is silence? Thought cessation, enabled by not identifying with thoughts that rise and subside. In time, silence becomes rippleless.

Sans thought, there is no identity but awareness self-aware is as yet fully alive and present in the no-thing continuum. Energised emptiness. We do not analyse the energy because we have dropped mind, we just connect with, merge with, dissolve into the vastness humming with potent power.

On ‘return’ to body-mind consciousness, vibrant nonchalance becomes our orientation, celebrating the gift of life in form to feel contrast , mindful that we remain gently watchful so as not to slip into trance. Employing mind-of-the-heart (God mind) rather that mind-of-head (ego mind), inner conflict ends and we automatically ascend or rather transcend the lower nature. There is a correspondence with the energy system, chakras and so forth but we can skip that bit for now.

In my view, the practice, whatever it may be, needs to be translated in thought, word and deed, moment to moment, all moments entwined. In other words, we have to walk the talk. There are no shortcuts.

There is only one kind of love that is pure unconditional love.

Love that changes us to become softer, more tolerant, less harsh, and less judgmental humans with more caring, kindness, understanding, compassion, honesty, integrity, unity, and respect for life.

Instead of humans deceiving, harming, and even killing one another for personal selfish benefits.

Before we could have love for others, we must have love for oneself first.

Much harder to have love for others when we are part of the problem being still under the strong influence of our ego which shuns love for survival by instilling in us fear, worry, envy, selfishness, hoarding, judgement, hierarchy, conquering, superiority, and separatism.

With sincere love in heart and mind we will have greater peace and joy. Then we will complain less, blame less, and judge less.

After all, love is the universal Truth, the way, and the life.

Unconditional love.

Many humans have conditional love, which is not love at all but rather it is a form of deceit and manipulation to gain control over others.

All the best!
