My thoughts on individuality in oneness, the stages of how we experience God as I understand them.
1. There are individuals that see no God.
2. There are individuals that believe in God but see God as separate from themselves.
3. There are those that experience and understand that they are a part of God and God is a part of them.
4. Finally there are those that go so deep into God that there’s no longer an individual or individuals, there is no separation or individuality in anything , there is only the one God or the absolute, the ineffable. At this stage there is no “individuality in oneness.” Ultimately individuality/ego is an illusion that separates us from God. IMO
As far as Christianity goes
“dying to self, the polar opposite of ego, is the biblical model for Christians.”
“In the Christian life devoid of ego, the “I will” becomes a “thy will.”

Robert Russell says something along the lines that Jesus made it clear that if we remain in personality then the realization of wholeness or perfection of spirit is not possible. The realization of God by overcoming ego is also talked about. In addition he explains what Jesus is, what the Christ is and what I and the father are one means. Until we live in God/ in perfection, we will live in the imperfection of personality/ego and we cannot make that claim that I and the father are one.
The ego/personality/the self is what separates us from God. The practice or path is a stripping away, unbecoming, a dying to make room for the higher. In the Bible John 3:30 talks about decreasing the self and making room for God and Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ, it is no longer I that live but Christ who lives in me” that is the second coming of Christ, the resurrection of Christ in you.
So to make the statement that I and the father are one as it means in the Bible then you have been symbolically crucified, died to individuality/the self/ego/personality and thus Christ has been resurrected within. Christ represents perfection, knowledge of God, Truth revealed and more. This is my understanding.
