Aww Altair……that was funny.

Molelearner….” Get rid of any books written by man ? Or just read books that are not written by man ?……

No I wouldn’t say get rid of all books written by man cos everyone KNOWS they are the interpretation of the author and the he/she doesn’t claim it is the word of God.

I have to say though……did anyone SEE Moses receive these messages/tablets…...No. Did anyone else HEAR the Lord speak to him……No.

So we have to just take this man’s word for it then?

We must remember people were pretty gullible in those days.

Redchic12,

Those days ? Here in the States half the population is certifiably gullible……the wackier the conspiracy theory is the more attention it receives. In ‘those days’ I visualize a lot of people struggling to survive….not sure how much idle time they had for being duped…..

Yep good point. Most people are still fairly gullible but it doesn’t alter the fact that no one saw Moses receive these messages/tablets and no one saw or heard the so called Lord speak to him.

So we have to ask ourselves, Do I live my life according to what this guy said 3,000 years ago without any witnesses validating what he had to say.

Redchic12,

That which is frustrating for you and many is beauty for me. The wisdom of man is dependent on intelligence, reason, rationale, science and proof. The mystery of the Bible is an invitation to another dimension….another universe. Each universe has its own rules. The language of the earth is many….innumerable in fact. The language of God is but one….spiritual.

Now for me to learn a language here there are many teachers. For me to learn ‘spiritual’ there is but one teacher. It is one on one with the source. A wise man, a guru, a minister cannot teach me….they can only point. This is another possible answer for the identity of “the pearl of great price”……

It is claimed the Tablets once existed along with a lot of other artifacts. Unfortunately the container that contained those artifacts disappeared along with the artifacts. Even today, it appears that people can not even agree which century these items disappeared. Did they disappear when the Jews were looting the Temple? Who knows.

From my observations, the people that claim some are wacky are also accused by the wacky(s) of being wacky.

What I try doing is try to find out, by studying the history on the subject, how this all came about.

Sky,

This seems like minutiae….but….I see 3 possible positions:

Accept the validity
Question(deny) the validity
Have no interest in the validity

Perhaps we understand language differently but when I hear someone say they question something I take that as a polite way of saying they have serious doubts about the truth of what is referenced….

I will accede that the English should have the best command of the English language……

It wouldn't make any difference. People say anything and claim that's what the Bible says anyway. It's just a matter of what degree of abstraction you think is tolerable.

Since people use text to affirm their own preconceptions (but think they are finding the truth in 'The Word of God'), Religion is fractured into sects that don't agree with each other even though it's the same book with the same words. Hence it doesn't matter all that much which words are there or not there, and changing it won't make any difference.
