Of all motivations, is it loving alone which seeks neither reward nor promise?

---love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds.---from sonnet 116. W.Shakespeare.

any more
i have a hard time
with the concept
'there is only one way
things can be done'

i know it is common to think that way
but any more
it seems so limiting

still
it seems like
if one does love
one of the things that happens also
would be a willingness
to not be seeking one's own way...

I think the bible says that
anyway...
---------------------------------------------------
but even when it is the case
that both of these things
exist together
it may not be as obvious
as it it seems
to tell which came 'first'
