The Marine Corps motto, "Semper Fidelis,” was adopted in 1883 as the official motto. It is Latin for Always Faithful.

Parents who view failure as a negative event have kids who are more likely to believe that intelligence is fixed and can't be increased.

You can't exist even 1 millionth of a second in the past (because the past no longer exists), and you can't exist even 1 millionth of a second in the future (because it has not yet started existing).

If and when you do exist in the future it will be the present so won't be the future anyway.

So, this means that when you look at the time, that is not the time it is. Because by the time the photons have bounced off that clock, travelled through the air, impacted with the light sensitive cells at the back of your eye which generate an electrical current that passes along the optical nerve in your brain, then goes through several million calculations to interpret what you're looking at and what it means, and you finally decide: It's 1:50, that time no longer exists for you...

Aristotle believed that common sense, or the 'sensus communis' was a physical organ that resided next to the heart.

If you are being treated by chemo for cancer this prevents all the cells in your body from dividing. This is why your hair falls out because the follicles need to keep dividing for it to stay in. Another part of the body that needs continuous cell division is the stomach lining in order to defend against acid, so people on chemo need to take anti-indigestion tablets to stop digesting themselves.

That is an ugly fact but it makes Biological sense. I hope I never have to expereince it.

Taking a few moments to pause and observe nature can improve your mood. Literally 'stopping and smelling the roses' or noticing things like a bird, a house plant, a dandelion in the side-walk, or just the sun shining through the window can boost your happiness and well-being.
