Question Spirit Walker

What is a Spirit Walker? I didn't know it was a such thing until someone told me that I was one. Can anybody be a spirit walker? Blessings.

A big question I have is: is it a spirit walker, dream walker, or a skin walker? They are all VERY different things, so you need to know what you're aiming for.

Okay, from what I can find, and what I know is this:

Spirit Walker- a type of person that has is a medicine man/shaman, or has the developing qualities of one. This type of person is spiritually powerful, and was see/walk through the Veil, and communicate/visit the Other Side. (be careful, this is a dangerous thing to do unaided or untrained.)

Dream Walker- it's kinda self explanatory. This is a person that Dreams. Not 'dreams', but 'DREAMS'. This can consist of astral projections, OoBE, meditation trances and lucid dreaming. Not sure if this is a 'born' thing, or can be trained. Ask around.

Skin Walker- Baaaaad juju. A skin walker is also known as a Wendigo. This is an evil spirit in a human/humanoid form that is brought about by the worst of curses, and the most evil of medicine men/shamans. They will... well, they essentially eat your soul. This is not something you can train to be, this is not something you want to be. This is not something you want after you.

(Like I said, there is a big difference between what they are, even though they all sound similar.) Hope I helped!

Yeesh I'm glad to say I've never encountered a Skin Walker. Creepy!

Yes, that was a great answer to my question, Miss EM. Thank you muchly!

Another (very nosy) question, Miss EM: Are you of Native American descent? Just curious.

Sorry for double posting...

Bellia Luna, I find it questionable when someone attempts to define me with a label like that. Of course, if it was offered in response to a request for information, that's a little bit different -- but not much (in my estimation).

As for your question ("Can anybody be a spirit walker?"), I'll assume the term was offered to you as a way to describe your spiritual path, and I'll assume, too, that the meaning is related to shamanic beliefs and/or experiences that you've had... many apologies if I've assumed incorrectly.

Kind of thinking out loud here (can ya tell?)... I've found that the closest word I could use to describe my own spiritual path is 'shamanic', but it's not one I'm comfortable using because I've encountered a few folks who took the traditional path of training to be shamans, and who took exception to anyone using the term who hasn't gone the traditional path. I can respect that. But if I - simple ol' me, no one special - can find and walk this path on my own, anyone can. So I'd answer (with an admittedly opinionated) 'yes' to that.

@pluralone: Yeeeeesss.... kinda. I have native blood on both sides of my family (enough that my mom lived on the rez as a kid), but it's nothing that we have submitted papers for. Although, it's supposed to be even stronger on my father's side... So yes, I am of decent, just nothing that I can hold identification up for.

Most of my information, though, comes from my ex. He's much more versed in the NA stuff, as he's training with a medicine man to become a shaman. He's got the knowledge of most spirits and fey on both continents, minor training in herbs and cures, among a slew of other spiritual powers that he's developed though life.
