We are not our mind refers to. That our mind is attached to our body. We are our SPIRIT which is only floating around in our body which drives it (like a car) our spirit accesses our mind but it is NOT our mind. Our mind can be influenced by other things, which are also not our spirit. Complex and I'm probably explaining it horribly, but think of it as you in a car. Your spirit steps on the gas to make it go, it can turn the key (access parts of your thoughts and mind) but you are merely the driver..not the car.
When you die, you exit the car and you go to another dimension. The car and our mind/body are merely vehicles in this life.

Now the car behind you hits you and you hit someone. Are you at fault? No.

Feel free to use the term God in whatever way you wish. My concept of god is different than most, and interchangable with such words as fate/universe/spirit/energy..etc. 
But thank you for adding that reminder, I may need to keep in mind the choice of words when relating my thoughts. |

God to me is calmness (natural result of unconditional love) then there is the collection of you me everybody, I call it US. (not God)
