8 of swords in the outcome position?

So I bought my first tarot deck and did my first reading in regards to a love interest of mine who is seriously thinking about joining the military. She's been keeping it a secret from though. So I asked the question, "what's going on between (her name) and the military"? I received the three of swords, the four of swords, the five of swords, the 6 of swords, and the 8 of swords in that order.

I was wondering if someone could help interpret this for me. Seeing the 8 of swords in the outcome position scared me because I interpreted it as her feeling binded and like she has no way out if she goes through with it.

uh - that's a LOT of swords. First thing that came to mind is that you did not shuffle the cards enough - it's very rare that a whole reading will be of one suit, especially in numerical order like that.

I really would shuffle them again, and again, and redo the reading.

The 8 swords, by the way, is about restrictions brought on, sometimes, by our own fears.
