Lotus is a snake form
Some people say the lotus is in the form of a snake, and that it's "evil", and it puts them off meditating.
Can anybody dispell the negative perception regarding this, please ?
appreciate any thoughts

Lotus is a flower that grows in dirty water. So rising above the murkiness of ones spirit to achieve enlightenment.
Some people tend to think that the snake is a form of evil, in which it can be. They fail to realize the snake is also a form of rebirth, transformation, growth, etc. The snake, like anything else on the planet is of duality, good or evil.

Full lotus is a difficult posture, but if you can sit that way, then good.
