How can we assume less mentally developed entities do not possess a soul?

What makes us unique? That we have self-awareness? That we 'remember'? I'm damn tired of anthropomorphism is a dirty word. Dogs and cats feel fear, envy, aloofness, patience, impatience, cunning, second stage machinations and a host of other human tendencies. Who, or how, are we to proclaim the 'soul' is the sole province of human beings? I have many more written thoughts on this subject (not in front of me) on this topic, but thought I would toss out the basic premise for comment.

Well actually 'we' can assume any darn thing 'we' want to.

I can see you don't like that humans have a VERY human centric view of reality. That is part of their nature. Personally that bothered me for many years. Over time I have learn acceptance and I just take that to be one of their behaviors. Humans are just not reasonable, logical, practical, or to your liking much of the time. Before you get too down on them, remember other animals have habits that are not so endearing either. This brings 'us' to an important question: what are you doing down here among them?

Primarily, it has to do with the mind placement, as who human beings perceive themselves to be, because the point of awareness that is the local self experiences itself as separate from all life, being integrated within and as the mind placement.

From its perspective of separation, in terms of being disaligned from one's connection to source through the heart as one's spirit, the mind placement is merely a system that does not understand any component of love. When completely separated from the heart, It only seeks to serve itself by whatever means it takes to generate the emotions that it wants to experience, to compensate for the void of separation.

While this is a rather extreme example, that is fortunately not the case for most of us, the question of understanding the value of life, as one and equal in all expressions, is something that requires a certain level of connection and integration with one's heart as one's spirit.

The mind placement is not able to process this understanding, because love is not information and knowledge; thus it is a realisation that has to occur naturally through establishing this alignment, where one becomes aware of the perspective of love as life.

When this has been properly integrated, one will experience a natural sense of compassion for all live. And whatever is not in alignment with that perspective will feel cruel, disturbing and wrong.

Humans are Animals and we are no different. Cultural imprinting has separated us from the animals, and the universe that created us. That is because we use money to buy what we need, rather than hunting gathering it directly from our environment. Thus we do not have a direct connection to the animals or the Earth or the universe for that matter.

In my dreams the animals heal me. So I feel they are great healers! The deer have pulled me on a sled thru my darkness. Dogs open my chakras with their teeth to let the energy in. Big foot chased me down and caught me. But instead of hurting me he took a look at my hands and said happy paws. As if we were brothers it felt. I have been a hawk flying around. They are awesome! I think its crazy to think some how they don't have a soul. We and the animals are one. I would be pleased to be an animal. I wouldn't want to be a pet though. And that's why I don't have any or want to.

Of course animals have souls...It was only in recent years that I discovered that there are religions out there that don't believe this and I was shocked....
