I'm going to throw in the idea that the Sidhe are different than the Tuatha De Danann.

The Sidhe, meaning "the hills" or "the hillfolk" sound more like guardians/heralds/inhabitants of the natural environment (Cu Sidhe, Coin Sidhe) and some human concerns (banshee, Leanan Sidhe).

The Tuatha De Danann could have been deified human people, from warrior tribes, so they would be more like ancestral spirits.

In my reference, the Sidhe were described as "the people under the hill" i.e. the tumuli. Other writers place them on a par as the Eldar or Elven race.

As a medium, I've had a very complicated relationship with the Sidhe. Although I once assisted the Sidhe at their request (even being allowed part-way into their realm), they cut off all contact with me after an incident in which my mother ignorantly tried to capture them on camera. Even though I asked for forgiveness and have offered them gifts as reparations, I still have not received any new communications from them -- apparently I burned a bridge that cannot be repaired.

Maybe it is not your apology that is needed but the one from your mother. Just a thought...
