I'm like you folks. Live in a mountain valley... tree groves all around, the river five minute's walk away. Song birds, grouse, ravens, big woodpeckers and sapsuckers. Deer, coyotes, squirrels, pet dogs. Eagles, herons, ducks and wild geese live on the river.

I got up and went out onto the deck to enjoy sunshine and nippy morning air. Seems like it will be warm today. When it's sunny, almost everyone in the neighborhood is smiley (for no particular reason).

Last week or so we've been weeding the gardens, and starting early planting. There's already huge lettuce, bok choy, and spinach (& pretty good radishes) in the greenhouse.

Enjoy, enjoy, everybody!

I was out the other day cleaning old bird nests out of the four birdhouses I have out back. I have to empty the birdhouses to promote a new place for the small birds, mainly Chickadees to live, and have more birds.

I got to cleaning out the second house, and it was full of white hair. And I thought "what kind of bird has white hair?" Then I got to cleaning the last house as it was full, and out jumped a mother mouse and here two babies attached to her, feeding on her.

So now, the birds, or mice can come back to live again, to start up as over again. Why would a mouse live in a birdhouse, or a bird live in a mouse house?

LOL

Some would say "creatures are opportunistic". A good house is a good house.

I've seen things like that.

Bats, too, will nest in odd places sometimes. At least we humans may find them "odd".

So do I. Very secret and lovely. Stars or a Moon lighting your way....the sounds of creatures out foraging, rustling about in undergrowth.... Night time smells (especially in Spring.) I'm very grateful for this environment where I live.

Outside is the place to be. Grass, trees, rivers, oceans, mountains, animals, sun light, moon light, it's all great.

I love the rain - but today is sunny.
