if I do it myself I normally
shuffle cut then draw 7 cards
I then actually intuitively place them in the seven positions

as opposed to shuffle/cut...slide off top of deck which works as well.. I just prefer to feel them out first.lol

Uh I thought I understood tarot card reading (placement, etc.) but after taking a look at this thread, I'm not so sure. So, I have a question. Looking at these layouts here, are you all laying the cards out like left to right, top to bottom and then they are numbered or do you put #1 where you show the #1 spot and so on?

I used them mostly for oracle reading as am new at tarot..as found tarot to much to remember..
I personally and this is just me...I have used them more for rune or mahjong type readings but they are all usefull no matter what type of divination method you choose.
I rarely read for others because of fear of making a fool of myself...this is why I am going to Norsemans tarot school to get past that fear of being totally wrong and making a ar-se out of self.

but if I use the placements methods... I place according to NUMERICAL placement

like first card pulled in placement numbered one 1'
second card picked or off top deck placement 2 etc.

remember these are all just types of spreads...to me persoanlly the best spread is the one you connect with the most... or the one you create for yourself ..

I use different spreads if it is more usefull due to the question presented.
like for years spread..or love..or work problem etc.
I am the novice so Norseman or arrive nan or others probably can help you with this more....I just had saved a bunch of types of methods for my personal use that I thought might be usefull in this area of teh forum for the aspects of learning how to read tarot.and oracle cards..and for other methods of divination as well.

I had bought 1 deck (Celtic something or other) but and it works and have a reasonably good feel for this deck, yet something else is calling me. It's been a while and I just forgot in my old age, lol, how I laid them out.
