Control
There is very little in our lives that we have full control over, even if we try.
But we can control the way we think and our attitudes, and these can change everything
- Sister Stanislaus Kennedy (From 'Gardening the Soul')

All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.

Can we control our fears? Can you ever completely live without fear as a human being on this planet or is it something you must evolve into? Do the great spiritual teachers and gurus on earth still experience fear, self-doubt, or insecurity?

Fears and phobias can be mostly conquered. I overcame my fear of spiders one night (was compromised in a situation) by applying rationality. Some fears are just learned responses that can be unlearnt. Phobias require desensitisation process i.e. treatment.
I view that some fears are healthy to have though i.e. as reminders to impending danger.

I totally agree. This is where freewill can come in/be applied and where the power of positive thinking can be harnessed.
For instance, even psychologists declare that it's not a situation that causes stress but our reaction to that situation. It indicates where we can be influential. For me it has been a life-changing transformation and one that I have been grateful for 3 decades on now.

Perhaps the only thing to fear is fear itself?

Just as long as I am not being a control freak to anybody,
or being subjected to some control freak,
I am in favor of having everything under control,
in fact, with wit, it is something I would have wanted to have learned more of while growing up.
