Memories fade like dreams

Anyone else finds their memories or visions done in light relaxtion tend to fade like dream memories?

Mine do, after 15 mins they fade and I have to try to recall them, even though I was completely awake.

Is it important to be able to recall the image? What are you wanting to do with the image after recalling it?

Usually, once you've integrated the message, the vehicle of the message falls away.

We often compare the mind and its thoughts/images to water. Thoughts move in streams. There is flow. If the analogy holds, then we also have stagnant thoughts/images which is like stagnant water.

What I have found is that when a memory (image) comes forward, it is because I have not fully integrated the lesson it is presenting to me. Once the lesson has been learned, the memory doesn't return any more. If you feeling that you're missing something, then I've found it more effective to let it go and let it come back to me in its own time. Chasing after it tends to create stress which puts it further out of reach. Just my experience.

What if you have a good memory? Does that mean you have lot's of stagnant smelly water in your head? ;)

But I do get what you're saying in terms of dream memories... I just can't help it if I'm good at remembering stuff from waaaay back.

No, I do not mean memories of dreams.

I mean sitting down and whatever you see (I see things aginst my eyelids), the memory of that fades LIKE dreams. Almost like its not quite in the concious mind.

I like to remember so I can note them down.

Have you considered taking art lessons, in particularly drawing? Practicing drawing would help strengthen the neural pathways associated with holding an image in mind and recalling detail...

hi Athymari,

Are you seeing pictures or colors against your eyelids ? I have seen both, and I seem to recall them on a general basis. The colors are like moving pictures, they change like slides shows from one color to another. The pictures I don't recall total details but I can remember if it was of a person, or a place.

Maybe you aren't meant to remember them later, but they are just there for the moment ?

Or another question, how quickly do they fade ? immediately ? or if you had something to write them down on, immediately after you see them... would this work ?

It started out as two symmetrical moving black smudges. Now I see definite shapes and objects, usually in movement. Usually they last up to 3 secs before they fade out then they fade in again. Rather like watching 3 secs of a film, then closing your eyes for 5 seconds then opening them again. Usually they are all greyscale though on occasion there is hints of colour.

Last I had some I went to write them down within 5 mins. It was just like I had woken up and memories fade straight away.
Part go missing that you dont recall until later and something jogs your memory. Not like everyday memories.

I wondered if it was bcause it was happening on somethign akin to the sleep realm and the brain finds it hard to remember.
