Goodness . So many responses and so many varied opinions .
Since I started this thread it has come to my attention ( in real life) of yet another unexpected family saga. This comes on the back of a recent and serious one only a few weeks ago . But because of this I now know that even if I am tired and weak I have to remain strong now to support my husband.
He is my carer. He does everything I can no longer do for myself as in shopping etc . He has to take me to all my appointments at the doctor's, he has to do all the housework, the gardening, the dog walking AND he works anything up to 84 hours a week to support us both.
But in return I now need to support him emotionally which I can do Thank God given that I do at least have a sound mind ( although some might dispute that )..

NICE OBSERVATION:

I am glad you have somebody to take care of you. Unfortunately, society seems to forget that they have to endure a lot....... usually in silence.

I think maybe when I posed the question it was because I was "hoping " so that I don't have to suffer at the end. Because I know how I will die and I'm dreading it.
So I was kind of hoping they might "spare me" that end stage and make it quick and easy in some other way.
But I know that sounds really really selfish.

My mother had PROMS I don't remember the full title nobody knew what it was
my auntie fell ill first kidney failure but to look at her you would have thought it was Liver failure by the colour of her,
she was in a lot of pain medication wasn't touching it.

We were all called to the hospital because she didn't have long.
she passed that night.
a few weeks later my mother fell ill with the same thing as my aunt nobody knew what it was, but there was a locum doctor on call who came from the states who recognised it,

it is a form of muscular dystrophy it is mostly known in the states.
it causes complete organ failure. my mother was in pain but a day before she passed she said to my dad The pain has gone, they thought she would be coming home I knew she wouldn't i saw my deceased brother waiting for her.

it happened to my aunt the same the pain just lifted before she passed

I know of others who have got your condition Angel and at the end they said the same thing the pain lifted.

Pod, there's an advert on Tele that keeps coming on with a phone number for cancer patients to talk to Macmillan nurses about anything.
I'll try and get the number .
