Godliness state as in becoming God like or Godliness as in closest to your God? I strongly suggest take what the Saints have done and astral project to him up in heaven.

Why would you want to get rid of your ego (if that's even possible)?

(Modern) Spiritualism - yes folks this is that forum - teaches that it will take many lifetimes of many kinds to reach god. There is no fast way and hence no way is fastest.
Many will feel they have "the fastest way" but illusion is all part of that process. Perhaps in a similar way to climbing a mountain, the higher we climb the more we realise that there is still a way to go....
Unlike climbing a mountain, though, we may realise how high we still have to climb spiritually to reach the godhead only after we reach the first peak - the one we thought was the summit.
Spiritualism teaches much about the nature of the worlds which follow the physical and the nature of god.
I am pleased to see so many recent converts posting in this forum.
welcome

Since there is no fast way ever to reach the state of godliness, the comparative form faster or superlative form fastest can not apply.

It is like the story about the tortoise and the hare.
Those who are practising bhakti karma or jnana yoga are the tortoises.
Those who come to SF to ask question like this are the hares.
