The earth itself is beautiful and perfect. There's nothing hellish about it. It's the people who inhabit it that cause the pain and sorrow. But it's also how you perceive reality. You may think life resembles hell, while the person next to you might see life as heaven. It's very subjective.

It is if one chooses to experience it as such, otherwise it is not.

Do you mean rampant here in this community, or rampant on Earth in general Xan?

I remember reading about the one of the Buddhist hells, that of the hungry ghosts and thinking how for many in this life that is their experience. My guess is that every type of existence exists here. Heaven and hell, side by side. I would argue though that there's not so much choice - some people are born into awful circumstances that they cannot overcome or escape and don't have access to spiritual knowledge to help them transcend it. Wouldn't that be hell? If things are so great here why do religions which believe in reincarnation have as the ultimate goal to stop coming back? (And in summary I do not say yes or no...not qualified to answer only to speculate)

In the human world, of course.

Most people believe love is only for a certain few, if one is lucky... and there are many who don't feel or believe in love at all. It's a sad thing.

No, not how much, Kate. Do you think I'm making a judgment rather than a description? I hope you and I are not getting into another round of misunderstandings.

Many people feel no love at all, and we can know this through their actions as well as through our inherent connectedness. To me this is a call for compassion

I am wondering why Xan that your focus is on the receiving love at this time?
