Breakfast
What do folk have for breakfast.
Eggs are now off my breakfast menu and I used to dine happily in the morning on a couple of barbarically produced eggs.
Cereals - well they are laden with sugars and salts. And so for me that is a no.
I try to steer clear of wheat and yeast, I think we overload it in our western world.
I'm trying to be organic and vegetarian - not vegan - but happy to hear vegan options as well.
And I'm looking around to consider what i might eat and I am not really spoilt for choice ....

Porridge is good. THat's a good plan. I'll have to do something to add a little yum to the porridge tho as I have found it as exciting as eating sawdust.
Not that i know what sawdust tastes like ...

Oats and soya milk, followed by two bananas.

I would suggest some fruit and berries; either raw, chopped, or a smoothie. And maybe a glass of lemonade sweetened with stevia, to support alkalisation of the body.
I've been thinking about composing a green smoothie to my own liking, using about four kiwis, half an avocado, a small cucumber chop, one peeled lime, and pure apple juice. I haven't tested anything like it yet, but I imagine it should be both green and tasty, with primarily a kiwi-apple taste.
Another breakfast idea could be nuts with dried fruits, e.g. raisins, and a glass of orange juice. I personally love pecans, walnuts, and cashew, to toss in some ideas.
As for porridge, have you ever had some good ol' Norwegian rice pudding ? You will need short grained rice for this dish. Just cook it in milk until the grains are soft and swollen, and the starch has thickened the mixture to a desired consistency. You may also flavour it with salt, sugar, and vanilla before it boils. Traditionally served with cinnamon and sugar sprinkled on top, and patch of butter in the middle. But you may of course enjoy it natural.
As for regular porridge, perhaps a sprinkle of cinnamon, slices of a banana, or a glace of fresh jam may give a desired flavour ?

we used to add milo on top of our porridge, or dates or brown sugar and sometimes milk on top :) any fruit would work, fresh or dried.

Two black coffees, followed by....big bowl of mixed chopped fruit (often orange, apple, grapes, peaches, strawberries, plums etc whatever's in season) with pumpkin seeds, pine nuts, sesame seeds, and ground Flax seeds, and some Bran Flakes on the side which I eat like crisps. I find this breakfast gives me lasting energy for about 5-6 hours. I've had this breakfast for years.

You can try smoothies if you drink milk (or use almond milk). They fill you up quite good

Thanks all.
I avoid lactose but i may head towards the almond milk and try that and I like the idea of pumpkin seeds alongside.
Tobi - bran flakes yes i used to eat like crisps but the sugar / salt is absurd I find. The two black coffee is a must!
Lots of good ideas here, thanks for the thoughts.
