Look at Paul, was he self sufficient or was he a burden on the Churches? He did not get paid when he went from Church to Church. 'Churches' back then was in many cases, a room in somebody's home. The home owner 'gave that space up' to be used from the kindness of their heart.

As for the rich liquidating their riches; that was to help their poor brothers and sisters. Their was nothing in place for somebody to 'line their pockets' by being a Christian.

i saw a catholic priest's boat, it was huge!

here, tons of them have mansions: multiple million dollars homes
https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2014...mes/index.html

how do these priests, and cardinals, and bishops deal with their mansions? they have nuns who get no pay to cook and clean for them!

The article in the monthly “Women, Church, World”, an official Vatican publication, described the drudgery of these nuns, who take vows of poverty as part of their religious orders so receive no pay and they do the cooking, and cleaning, and laundry, for cardinals, bishops and priests.

so if i became a bishop in the catholic church, i can have a luxury car, a mansion, a huge boat, and two or three nuns provided at no cost to clean my house, cook my breakfast lunch and dinner, do the dishes, do the shopping for me, wash my car, mop the floors, do my laundry, and i also get around 5k to 6k cash a month for anything else i wanna buy.

and this is a non-profit church.

isn't it weird that these nuns get no money, no possessions, no cars, probably sleep in a closet and the male bishop is rich and both of them have the same basic job? to surrender their lives to god?

I think that was said within the context of expected loyalty to the Roman Empire.

Who would Caesar be in the context here? The Pope? The Church? They are the Caesar of the Vatican state.
If they are the Caesar of the Vatican state and decide to give the cardinals a 4/5K income than there's no conflict with scripture.

Yep. No conflict.
I see the Catholic church like the state or a corporation.
What they pay their employees makes no difference to me.

They only pretend to speak on behalf of God.

........... and then the original teachings were distorted, in some cases as much as 180 degrees out of phase.

Jesus taught of a simple belief.
