Don't let anyone get your goat.
It's not unusual, at least for me, at times to over think things.
Guess would suggest to do what is felt needs to be done and not so much for a reward of some kind. Can't always know what another may do and also sometimes what impact even the smallest act may have on another.
Some things may just take time to settle and figure out.
Let your "goat" guide you through those paths that may seem more tricky.
