How does one go back to the "unspiritual" state of mind? The spiritual side of things makes sense, it just makes it so much worse than it has to be in my opinion. I don't want to be conscious anymore. I'm like that guy in the matrix that wants to be plugged back in.
I can't say becoming"unspirtual" is the way to go. I believe your level of spirituality is individualized tuned in to only you. So many people think that spiritually is one size fits all but it's far from it. Even someone who worships the devil you can call spiritual. To really find your true path you really have to dig deep within yourself. That's the scary part. If you dig deep and find rainbows and unicorns your lieing to yourself or not doing it right. You have to work through that darkness like a blind person.

I tried reading the Satanic Bible. I found the preface to be extremely enlightening.
The person claimed people would go to the circus for the sole purpose of hoping to have sex with the women
and then the next day (Sunday) listen to the sermon about the evils of the World.

The person's insight was spot on.

spirituality effect mental health

Both religion and spirituality can have a positive impact on mental health. In some ways, they provide the same impact. For example: Both religion and spirituality can help a person tolerate stress by generating peace, purpose and forgiveness. But benefits generally vary between the two due to their different nature.

I agree religion can have a positive impact. But it often comes down to the "teacher, student". The teacher is teach what they think is important. By teaching what one thinks is important a lot of information can be lost and changed to often favor the teacher.

I'm back on my meds, guys, and it has been more stable that when I was off my meds. I'm on antipsychotics such as olanzapine and abilify, and antidepressants. Still, the telepathy is apparent, I'm just a lot more stable and it doesn't affect my energy as much as it did when I made this post.

And I don't eat much junk food but I don't eat fruits or vegetables either because I'm broke. I may seem pessimistic, I can't help it, it's been like this for so long. I recently quit drugs, smoking cigarettes and alcohol.

Your drug use and alcohol consumption were probably a form of self medication. You should not hear voices in your head. You definitely should not hear voices that stifle you, belittle you, embarrass you or make you feel bad about yourself in any way. In the best case scenario you have a bad case of negative self worth, in the worst case, you may be struggling from a metal illness.

The really good news is, that there are many people and therapies that can help you. Find a therapist to talk to and tell them about the voices in your head that hinder you from meditation, tell them everything. Just talking about it will help you clear your head, organize all of your thoughts and find a way to a better mind set.

I can really tell that you are struggling and I hope that you will reach out and allow someone to help you.

It depends on the person because people's mental health in general can have an impact on their Spirituality/religion. What's not thought about is that Spiritual/religious beliefs and information aren't dealt with by separate parts of the brain, they're dealt with by the same parts of the brain as everything else. If you're using brain processes (knowledge, reasoning, logic etc) in your religion/Spirituality and your brain isn't straight, then neither will your religion/Spirituality.

One of the issues is that religious/Spiritual people only deal with religion/Spirituality, and if someone comes along needing mental health support it becomes very silly very quickly. People try to solve mental health issues with religion/Spirituality and only make things very much worse - even to the stage that they exacerbates the problems. I was asked to speak to one woman who was told she was a medium because she was hearing voices that were mocking her and seeing red-eyed demons.

I have mild schizophrenia from (I think) epoigenetics because my mother was suicidal when she was pregnant with me, and I suffered childhood abuse which 'fractured' my personality.

There's something called the Shadow Self that hasn't popped up in the forums for a while, but essentially it's where all the traumas that we've gone though in the past are dumped if they aren't dealt with or expressed properly. And they can go all the way back to childhood. Those can affect our everyday Lives in ways we'd never imagine - and sometimes religion/Spirituality is used either as an escape or a way to understand their Life experiences in a more meaningful way.

Often all this so-called positive thinking is denial and consequently the issues aren't dealt with. People talk of negative karma that has followed someone over a number of incarnations when what they should be doing is expressing their emotional issues and simply admitting to themselves that they've been through a trauma. There is a direct link between Spirituality/religion that has never really been discussed in these forums as far as I'm aware, but then there is a lot of Stigma when it comes to mental health issues.

. It's funny how came across this topic. For about 3 year's I cared for a person that has a long list mental illnesses. For them 3 year's overall he was stable, a good guy. But then they changed his meds because of cost. They tried different doses of his new cheaper med with negative results. The new med was supposed to have the same affects as the old one but obviously it didn't. Now that same person is back in the hospital because the med that worked was to costly. It's heart breaking. Guess insurance company's run the world.

Good for you. I am glad to hear that you have people around you supporting you. It is a very difficult thing to do, to face down your own voices. You are awesome! Good luck
