Self-esteem.

What is self-esteem, anyway?
What use is it?
How do you get it?
Why would you want it?

I think self-esteem is a lack of negativity towards oneself, but what do I know.

Self-esstem is really just perfecting the ego, so as to feel better about yourself.

Self-esteem is realizing that I AM...no better and definitely no worse than anyone else, so you won't allow others to treat you negatively.

The thing is, many of us live by the maxim "Treat others as you want to be treated" but we fail to extend that much love to ourselves. Having self-esteem also insures that negative mind chatter is minimal.

Why would we want self-esteem? Because who wants to feel like they're sitting in a pile of <snip>

Haha:) Psychoslice 'gets it' more than most.

Self-esteem seems to be the last resort of the truly desperate.
A way to feel important, when importance is what you desire.

Self esteem is simply what you think about yourself - how you evaluate your worth. A self judgement. I don't know that it's possible to escape having such thoughts about yourself since we all tend to have morals and evaluate our behaviour accordingly.

I think having self-esteem is the opposite of feeling important. Self-esteem has to do with (what I said before...)

I disagree. I have high self esteem - meaning I basically like who I am and have peace. It was a long road (I used to have low self esteem way back in the past) and where I am now is a very good place. However, I am not big headed in the slightest and it is certainly not a way of feeling important since I am focused on minimising the ego. Humility is important to me and I can take criticism and learn from it since self improvement is my focus.

Agree - it's about self worth and not being undermined.

If that is what it meant to everyone, it might be worth having.
But I don't have any, and have no need for it.
I know myself.
