In the original series, the books and graphic novels, he is a father of three children.

The problem with Hollywood, particularly nowadays, is they seem to have great difficulty converting real stories and/or books, graphic novels, games, etc. into film accurately.

Who wrote the original books/film? Did books come first or the film?

Depends on what series / universe you are talking about. There's multitudes of versions some written by okay authors and some by good authors.

As like X-Men, which is another warped series for even my nephew used to watch animated 1990s cartoon if I remember the year correctly which was more accurate to the comics & graphic novels than the "blockbusters", Star Wars are a variety of alternative universes, spin offs, etc.

Han Solo's 3 children are introduced in the 1990s book-wise. The films have one son [Ben, 2015 - Force Awakens] who I believe is a combination of Han's two sons just massed together with Jacen being predominant but still not accurate because well Hollywood knows the average watcher won't know the series.

Some true die hard fans don't even bother with the current trend of movies. I, for example, adored the old 1970-80s Star Wars films but have never watched any of the modern "remakes" and alternatives that have come out in the last decade or so.

Well, then he doesn't represent Jesus Christ. Then he's just the lion :-)

My mistake :-)

That's why the movies have that line that says "based" on this or that book, and is not a word for word telling of the book...

Disney said they were doing their own things, but in a way, they did not. Episode 7 is just episode 4, with new characters, and if Michael Bay directed it.

As for the original comment it's an interesting debate, and I'm sure the Jesus character can be seen in many franchises. Since Hollywood is pro Christian with their themes. Can we say Anakin, the "chosen one" was Jesus, the one meant to save them all, or he is more like Lucifer, that falls from grace, and eventually is able to redeem himself?

So did the Star Wars universe exist before the original 1977 film; or was it Lucas who started it all?

Many claim that Star Wars is nothing but a rip-off of Dune. There are a number of similarities. Not just little things but major influences [such as the main characters]. It can't, in a way, be helped as Dune to sci-fi is what LOTR is to the fantasy genre.

So if you want to take it that way the concept for Star Wars originated with the Dune books & so would have come first. The actual 100% Star Wars universe started with Lucas & the films.

.

Oh? They do that for true stories sure.

But does Star Wars introduce itself like that? I've watched X-Men and don't remember any caption saying so in the intro.
