Question can the soul leave the body just before death?

A while ago I've read somewhere that if a person is about to die from a painful death like a brutal car crash, drowning or from a murder, the soul can leave the body a few seconds or minutes before death.
To be honest I'm so scared of dying, I bet it'll be terrifying and very painful. But if you know you're about to die, it can't be that hard for the soul to exit right?
Because that would be so much better than suffering.
Like people are able to astral project and have out of body experiences so I think it must be possible. What are your thoughts on this?

As you suggested, a soul can leave the body at any time. For younger people this can happen spontaneously (astral travel). Most people don't know how to do leave on purpose. The soul leaves the body involuntarily during times of severe trauma (including the ones causing death). The timing is not exact, it can be slightly before or after the body dies.

If you are banking this because of your fear of death then its the wrong approach. Fear of death makes one cling to life which in general delays the soul leaving the body. Those that are 'ready to go' are the ones that tend to have a peaceful passing.

Yes, I have read in a few places that the soul does leave the body before death, especially when there is trauma. Equally, the soul also comes in after the formation of the baby in the womb and will go back and forth.

It certainly is possible for the soul to leave the body before death. In this way, the soul will be innocent of the final suffering. In effect a soul will not suffer the final pain. Our souls exist within the lower mind of God. If we are murdered, the final moments will be stored apart from our soul. When the murderer dies, the victims pain and suffering will be felt by the murderers.
This is part of the justice system of God.

We share a common soul (spirit) with all life across space/time. At death the individual's biological link to the web of Spirit is disconnected and whatever you may have contributed to the web persists as an Akashic record. Very similar to our internet WWW when your hardware crashes you are no longer connected to the web but if you have a website that will remain for you to access with a new computer. Interesting how our technology emulates spiritual reality. A quote from the Emerald Tablets of Hermes "From one soul of the universe are all souls on countless worlds tossed up and down and severally divided".

What you say is plausible from the point of view that God created all things from God's energy. However that is not the reality because God evolved out of chaos. Man also evolved out of chaos mixed with God's spiritual energy. This makes both man and God independent. Your thinking is quite standard but wrong.

A couple of possibly pertinent observations...

First, a friend on another forum tells a story of having a spontaneous OBE when she was a child riding in the car with her mother. She saw they were about to be hit by another vehicle, and screamed to warn her mother, but found herself looking down on the cars from above them. The collision didn't happen. She then found herself back in her body. She saw the near miss from above.

And another one...a psychic was posting his observations at a funeral for a friend. He could see her standing next to her body in the casket. Her husband, who had advanced Alzheimers, was in a wheel chair, mostly out of it. He kept making disturbances, then he would calm down and go to sleep. The psychic said when he appeared to sleep, his spirit rose from his body and went to join his wife's. They both looked vital and happy. When he would awake, his spirit would return to his body and he would again start to make noise.

So, two random observations from different people that hint that the spirit can leave the body under certain circumstances.

It probably does when things get too rough before death. But this is only speculation on my part.

I hope so. It would ease my mind to know that people who died horrific deaths were not really present in the physical body consciousness and so did not feel pain or emotional trauma. I would like to say that my father died of a massive brain bleed. He did not die immediately, though. He lived for 10 days afterwards and that was mostly because our family needed time just to be sure there were no other options. The whole time though, I felt that he was away from us and I was certain that he was off reuniting with his parents whom he had lost within a year of each other when he was only 12 years old.

The OP's question comes from a fearful place, well, think about this.

We fear pain, physical or mental because throughout our lives we have to deal with it or carry it around. Physical pain needs to heal, be rehabbed, one can carry pain for years and it's a undoubtedly a very unpleasant experience.

For example , you hit your toe, ouch it hurts, then it swells up, turns blue, there's pain and discomfort and you have to carry it with you, deal with it and really have no choice about it.

However, the way I see it no matter how horrible or painful the physical pain of dying is, you won't really have to "deal" with it like other pains during your lifetime.
Your physical body will be dead within moments and your spirit will be freed and you won't have to deal with any horrible pains. All you'll probably need to do is understand and accept what just happened. Don't be afraid.
