Arthur Findlay

Has anyone read the books of Arthur Findlay? He is best known for his book On The Edge Of The Etheric. He initially believed that Spiritualism was only for the credulous. He soon changed his mind when he witnessed the demonstrations by the direct voice medium John Sloan who carried out his mediumship for a period of over 40 years.

Findlay accepted that Sloan was genuinely in contact with those who had passed over as the information he provided in his messages was known only to the sitters being addressed. So Findlay was converted and became a proselytiser for Spiritualism, writing many books on the subject. My own favourite is The Way Of Life which provides many details and information about the afterlife.

Yes I have along with many others about Modern Spiritualism, the so-called afterlife and spirit communication in general.

Yes I’ve heard of him and I have stayed at the Arthur Findlay college for spiritualism and psychic sciences in the UK. They run some great courses there.

They also have a small museum there dedicated to the work that he did. Really interesting.

I have heard of both. As you indicated, most people have no idea who Arthur Findlay let alone his contributions.

But then, that holds true for basically all of Modern Day Spiritualism in my opinion.

Actually it's the opposite - what was said is (quote) "There are not a lot of people who Have not heard of Arthur Findlay or the college."

Sorry if you misunderstood what I wrote.

I personally do not find it 'wrong'.

So there is really no need to critique what I expressed as my own personal thought on this particular matter.

I prefer to devote my time and energies to the topic.
