Visualising vs third eye

I don't think I have the difference clear between these two things. My visualising works great, I see things and places elsewhere with moderate effort only. But there's a lot of talk about the third eye chakra and the related gland and so on, and I would like to know what's different for those who have the third eye functioning. Do you see in a different way than I see?

Don’t expect the 3rd eye function to be active all the time. This is related to visualization, but different. I’ve had it activate really strongly in a theta experience, but this was not w/ my specifically trying to activate it, but just leaving the door open to whatever guidance was useful for me. As it activated, the inside of the 3rd eye area got very, very bright. Although asleep, I thought, wow, that’s like I’ve read about. I had read an account of someone who had this ability since a child & even played w/ the internal white light as a kid. After this unmistakable bright light sign, specific images unfolded. While the dream was interactive, I wasn’t generating the images.
