Going beyond the mind does not eliminate that which is in the mind, as the brains are still active. Re-programming the mind only brings new conditioning (which may or may not be useful). No matter what mystical experience people have, it is always related to one's beliefs, inspiration from books, ideas, and ideologies. This can be seen in every person and so called guru's. Sooner or later they've been caught red handed. It's not that I'm giving a judgement here, it's just natural as humans are fallible. There isn't a part of us that is separate from us, and outer influences cannot be ignored.

It's true enough. People should not believe guru's drawn conclusions.

The basic intelligence of us has the truth as its primal componant, not what I think, Xan thinks and gurus think, it's the honesty to discard what you think and just see.

Goodness is the honesty, founded on the truth, integrity ... what happens to be despite what anyone thinks. That's virtue.

In quiet silence (as opposed to the noisy silence Hehehehe), the mind goes beyond formal thought and people can see for themselves if there's a reality. It's a matter of not imagining it to be this or that, and just seeing what happens to be.

Well said, Gem. Each one has to discover what is truly true... for themselves, in the silent open space of themselves.

Teachings are only to open the mind to greater possibilities.

Yes of course, Chrysaetos... The human mind is fallible and it takes radical self-honesty to see through and relinquish treasured beliefs that veil clear seeing of what is essential and true. An important part of any spiritual path is to challenge and discard what is no longer useful and not true. (A good method for this stripping away is "The Work", developed by Byron Katie.)

Beliefs only have the power we give them, and are learned from our life experiences and conditioning. By opening our minds and hearts and shifting our attention and energy from whatever we believe based in the past, our new experiences have room to transform our views of reality and ourselves.

Genuine mystical experiences surprise us in the beginning, taking us far beyond what we've come to expect and may have even heard of.

Meditation is the art of watching and witnessing the truth as it unfolds in each and every moment.
