I had a papier mache made in 1965 of Lakshmi and I went about tryin' to give it away. A motor mechanic wouldn't take it as they need the holy men to recieve such things with due respect so he didn't want it. I then took it to a temple but they shoo'ed me off the grounds like I was unclean and later learned they don't do the graven images thing and so I eventually stopped off at a new age healing place and it just so happened that the Woman who came out to see me collected them and was well chuffed to receive it.
Sometimes even things have purposes and enjoy us takin' part in their journeys... you might be feelin' that... so go on a journey!

Well in Buddhism from my understanding he was one of many Buddhas, and anyone can achieve becoming a Buddha but the universe can only sustain one at a time apparently.
For what it is worth. Not saying it's my own personal belief 100%

In my current understanding , all existence regardless living -human / animal / plant / micro-orgms or non-living-rock / wood / dust / table / computers etc are all originally "NOTHING" ....so all existence is same and equal ...as we are all originally nothiness , nothingness is being descriped by Siddharta as ' Buddha" ...so Buddhism is a NATURAL process all existence going back into its own original condition .....this process introduced to mankind by Siddharta . Siddharta had solved the greatest puzzle of human .......in Buddhism , Siddharta is same as any existence ....nothing special about him but in human knowledge , he is perhaps the greatest man as he had help mankind solved the greatest question .....

Besides Buddha did not seem to like idolatry any more than the Christ did.

Its not the disposing of the Buddha statue you need to do, its disposing the belief that you need to dispose the statue.

And of the notion that the statue has any meaning other than sentimental .
I like fire, so I suggest a little lighter fluid or gasoline (Monk style ) and a match . Maybe a raft ; float him down the river, if you want a little more pomp and circumstance
