Thoughts on this?

I think that somtimes love isn't love. Or maybe it's just that love can change. For example, I was in love with someone that I had been in a relationship with for one year. During that year he lied and cheated more than I thought humanly possible. I was so blinded by "love" that ridding him from my life was an extremely difficult thing to do ...but I did it! And now, almost two years down the road, the mere thought of him does nothing but tickle my gag reflex. Ha! So. No. I don't think that if you are in love with someone that means that you will always love them. Or ya know what? Maybe love has levels. Any maybe these levels depend on the connection*** that you have with someone. Maybe that is why tf love is so unconditional.

Thanks all! There were some really beautiful things written, like enlightener's post. Element5, I love the multiple choice thing! Yes, I think some of what was said in the conversation with these girls I just chalk up to youth. It just made me think of all of us here since love in all it's incarnations is a common theme.

To be fair, I will share my thoughts. I believe love is a feeling you choose to have (or maybe didn't consciously choose in the tf scenario! Hehe). I believe once you love someone, you do always love them. I think there is an evolution that can occur just like some of you said here, as we grow and change, so does that love. For instance, I've mentioned on here before that before my current relationship, I was with an emotionally, physically, and mentally abusive man. No matter how bad things were with us and how much I want to just hate him, I loved him once and there still resides love in my heart for him. I also still love my first love somewhere in my heart. Now I know, that the difference here may just be the whole in love or simply love thing. For me, when it comes to romantic love, I just don't draw a line or see a whole "in love" or just "simple love" line. I understand what someone said about family vs. romantic love and I get that, but love is just love to me I suppose. I just don't know that I buy "falling out of love", yet still loving someone. I dunno. Just can't say that it's happened to me personally, falling out of love. Think maybe it's because I've been the one who gets broken up with most times. I love too much! lol. JK. There are others I maybe said I loved when we were together, but looking back now, I don't think I ever did love them. I've only been in love 3 times I would say.
