Bunny friends
I live in an apartment complex and this year I got permission to dig up a small area for some plants. I planted tomato plants and in between them I have different herbs, basil, rosemary, thyme, sage, spearmint and then I also have lavender. I planted and have let them pretty much tend themselves, minus occasional weeding, which considering that it was covered in sod and only hand turned has not required much hoeing. I was up fairly early in the morning waiting for a ride and out of my little garden patch come two small rabbits, I'm assuming babies yet. The neat thing was is that they hopped up the steps to the porch and started playing in front of the door to my building, which is unheard of for rabbits to be so brazen in our area. And since I have been seeing them frequently but only ever briefly until they hop out of sight. I have a feeling that they may be a little more than you're average bunnies. Thoughts?

I'm not sure... Maybe they're stray pets? My older sister has a white rabbit that comes to her lawn in the mornings and her kids feed them carrots. It doesn't run away either. Then again, they may be something more. I have a wild rabbit nesting in a big wood pile in my backyard as well as a white rabbit named Snowfur as my familiar in a higher realm. I'm jealous of your garden! The deer here keep eating the tops of my sunflowers and my nasturtium is withering. Maybe next spring I'll just stick to herbs.

I have found where they live, which is under the porch of my building, they are small though because the bricks are stacked to where there are openings between them and they have no problem getting in and out. The little brats ate all my herbs though! The only thing left is my lavender and tomatoes lol. They spend a lot of their time in my garden patch though, I can even pick my tomatoes with out them running off. Very audacious for an animal so known to be timid. I would love to live somewhere deer could wander into my yard, I have more chance of a stray car wandering up the side walk lol

I will have to try that next year, a little patch of their own off to the side or something.
