New year spreads.
Do any members have a particular spread they like to use for new year readings?
I'm interested to see if, or how, other readers choose to find their insights.
I'm trying a new counting method this year (along with my standard new year spread) just to see if it brings an interesting insights.

Hello
There is the traditional Wheel. I use then when its a "request" by someone wanting a reading.
The other is an over lap Birthday / New Year layout.
5 Cards Top Row
4 Cards Middle Row
3 Cards Bottom Row
Basic outline.
Card 1 - Previous year summary
Card 2- Past year's leanings
Card 3- what you want to aspire over the year
Card 4- Your empowerment's
Card 5- What stands in the path
Card 6- Relationships and emotions
Card 7- Career, work, finances
Card 8- Health and well being
Card 9- Spiritual energy
Card 10- What is the main focus
Card 11- What will be the most important lesson
Card 12- What lies ahead for 12 months
This is one I have had readers do for me....and I am not a fan of it either as I would reverse where some of the questions come up.
Lynn

I created this year spread 3 years ago, works a treat. If you've used it a few times you'll start to notice you can make it smaller and still get the same answers, but I like the cross check thing.
I do my own reading this way each year and for a number of other people. So far has always worked really well :)
This is the full spread, laid out in a bow, spanning the new year. Starting at closure of the old year, ending at the end of the upcoming year.
I use 7 different decks, but you can do whatever you like of course. I find you get more depth with plural decks.
1 Theme – Major Arcana Tarot
2 What works against theme – Tarot (NOT MA)
3 What helps the theme – Tarot (NOT Majors)
4 What you got to leave behind in the old year – Lenormand
5 What the new year will bring you if you do (leave that behind) – Lenormand
6 Most important lesson for now – Wisdom of the Oracle
7 Blind spot concerning that lesson – Wisdom of the Oracle
8 Love / Relationship in the new year – Romance Angels
9 Work / Money in the new year – Lenormand
10 Healing for you – Colour Therapy Cards by Inna Segal
11 Where you are now in your development – Wisdom of the Oracle
12 Advice for new year (General) – Wisdom of the Oracle
13 Spiritual development advice for new year – Angel Therapy
NOTE: Do not use Wisdom of the Oracle reversals. I found it does NOT work. You get weird outcomes, yet if you take the upright interpretation it works like a charm and will be spot on.
NOTE 2: I used to use Enchanted Map instead of Wisdom of Oracle. Also experimented with Angel Therapy by Doreen Virtue. So you can use other decks if you prefer. Works just as well.
I feel both Tarot and Lenormand should be used in positions mentions though. That somehow seems to work best.

Another nice one FairyCrystal.
I may change the Lenormand cards for Kipper though (finding them much easier to work with) I could use my combo of Ciro's decks for this

I've only done year spreads for the last couple of years - I like the 'wheel' method.

Sure, you got plenty of decks to experiment with! I do that myself too, lol. Before I got my Wisdom of the Oracle, I used Enchanted Map and Ascended Masters.
It doesn't really matter, as long as the deck speaks to you I guess.
You will no doubt also find that some cards/positions will tell you the same thing. But I must admit I kind of like that, it tells me that I am spot on. And sometimes they say the same thing, but from a slightly different angle, adding to the depth of it all.
But when I have to do a lot of these for others, I tend to forego those 'extra' cards.
I particularly like the "What you have to leave behind" and "What that will get you (by the end of next year at least)"
When I go through a reading halfway through the year, or the end of the year, it is nice to see that it was correct. Or not of course, lol. But then see how the cards were still right, but my interpretation was off.
For 2017 I have to leave "The Sun" behind.
I had to think about that one for a bit. I just didn't get it! Leave the Sun behind, which is one of the most positive cards in Lenormand.
Then I realized the Sun was telling me I had to not be so focused on myself anymore, as that could and would blind me.
