I really like Cassandra Wilson's version of Time After Time, Deusdrum; thanks for sharing
On my turntable now, Max Richter's The Blue Notebooks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KjC1...34FBBDF84E4F87
The first track features Tilda Swinton reading from Franz Kafka's The Blue Octavo Notebooks. She reads on other tracks as well. Some simple but beautiful compositions...

Yes it's a tastefully done cover imo, quite like it myself. Enjoy the narration with piano link, interesting combination and the piano itself is very nice; one of my favorite instruments.
Only Kafka I've read was the Metamorphosis which I have only vague recollections of being a strange and kind of depressing book. He turns into a bug and comes to a ignominious end, original (and presumably symbolic?) concept for a story but you have to feel for his poor mother lol.
Cake - Mr. Mastodon Farm
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=motInIFF-zo -edit- the "symbolic" thing was not intentional I swear. Realized it after but maybe as i was listening to the song the word slipped in there unconsciously into my response above. Big explanation, but yeah. Just to be clear.
Copeland - No One Really Wins (acoustic verj)

Santana & Willie Nelson - They All Went to Mexico

-double edit- add one more while I'm here, am in a mixed mood atm. This song is always good though.

Schoenberg's "Verklaerte Nacht" (Transfigured Night), the version for string orchestra (Mehta / Los Angeles Philharmonic). Following on will be Ravel's Concerto for the Left Hand and Prokofiev's Concerto No 3 (Leinsdorf / John Browning, piano)
