So who is this "I" who is personally convinced that you have neither soul nor spirit?
What is the nature of the Consciousness which gazes out of your eyes?
If we do not know the nature of the "I" and the nature of Consciousness then can we really say that we know anything?
Peace

I tend to think souls pre-existed prior to being "breathed into" a physical body by God.
The thought of "not fitting in here" on earth and the sense that Heaven is "returning home" leads me to this.

The 'I' arises at the moment of birth. The 5 senses 'pinge' directly from the contact they have with the 'outside' world. This gives the illusion of an I. This feedback continues until the senses cease to function - sleep/death.
When we no longer can rely on any sort of feedback we revert into our place in the universal mind. Evolution is an outward sign of the processes taking place in order that the universe can reflect upon itself.
