My bike and my dog
Bought a used bike for $20, had flat tires and wasnt in too good of shape. My awesome boss who is obsessed with bikes, fixed it all up for me for free, which is nice because first of all I couldn't afford it and second, I didn't know what to do, lol. Took my dog out with me and she ran up and down the street with me, first it was on a leash, then after the first 10 times she ran in front of me I ditched the leash and she ran next to me for about 10 minutes. It was great! About 9pm and no one else was out and I live on a dark street as well. She had a lot of fun. Thank goodness for small favors! I love my new bike....although my husbands is much nicer, lol!

That sounds great!
I never could ride a bike when my dog came along. I ditched bikes for feet, for her sake. She would run in front along our country lane which isn't that safe as tractors and farm vehicles can come along any minute....then she'd catch a good scent and stop to sniff -and I had to swerve, nearly ended up in the hedge!
I tried it once with her-never again! lol.
But some dogs run alongside quite safely.
