What’s best for my situation?

Hi, my name is Ervin, I am a 46 year old male, I have mental illness a mixture of schizophrenia and mania, I am being treated for it with fortnightly injections and tablets mainly antipsychotics.I also have five screws in my right ankle and it hurts when I start moving after resting, once it’s warmed up it doesn’t get that painful. am going to try to get it operated again. live in a place called community care units in Melbourne suburb of werribee(Australia), which is a community psychiatric ward.

Medication that I take takes away all my joy and faith and it makes me restless. normally believe in a God like described in near death experiences.

I like meditating but it doesn’t help much at all.

Anyway, what would be your recommendation on what to do to get better. I am already looking at changing the medication for instance. I have to take medication by law, plus I can be dangerous and I get very sick when I don’t take them.

Thanks

Hi.

I think a better medication will help you... for your journey to not be painful.

I 'm taking some pills too, I would say they stabilize me, what I don't like is that I have to take them every day at exact times .. sometimes I don't want a particular medicine at a given time but I guess that's how medication works..

Feel very welcomed here, we 're all find it strange to navigate our lives in our unprecedented times, being here can help being seen and feel as a sanctuary.....

I have nerve damage which caused me many worries and mental agitation untii I had a scan which put my mind at rest somewhat, the agitation, tinnitus is still there but I live with it,I also have liver disease which as caused all sorts of mental disturbances-I tried prescription pills of a few types but was not keen on the effects they had-the main things I try to do now is stick to a good diet and keep a good gut biome going, also try my best to avoid stress particuarly stress that is unneeded, walk about ten miles a day,do cryptic crosswords or other puzzles that aid memory, avoid people who drain you, don't overdo it with stuff like caffeine and alcohol and *Deleted*.Mine would have been happy just to have left me on certain medication forever.

Maybe alternative medicines would work for you; things like Chinese herbal medicine, the use of acupuncture, or even massage therapy. Ayurvedic medicine, which is widely used in India may be helpful. Homeopathy is another option.

You are in the mainstream healthcare system, but in my opinion they do not always have the best treatments. Investigate and read about alternative treatments. I might also suggest not to get attached to your mental health diagnosis.

If your current treatment is working for you okay, but if you feel it is not working for you then get a second or third professional, medical and or mental health, evaluation. There are people who are given the wrong diagnosis and thus the wrong treatment. If it is working for you stick with it but if it is not working look at your options.

Do some research on your own or with the help of family or friends. Be proactive with your physical and mental health. Don’t think you are your diagnosis; you are a human being with health issues, you are not your diagnosis. Hang-in there, you do have options.

With respect to your legs, I think the practice of Tai Chi may be beneficial.

It is a slow, moderate exercise, and many elderly people with arthritis have found it useful in reducing pain symptoms while increasing strength and balance.

It is also said to be therapeutic and good for mental health.

Perhaps you may find it useful for your leg and could discuss it with your doctor whether it is okay to learn and practice it.

That's a tough combo to live with so I applaud you for a lifetime chosen to endure this. Respect to you.

Now it's a good start in my eyes for you to ask for help in spiritual ways it's like a recognition of a deeper sense of yourself that inherently knows that a spiritual way is a good way for use of a better word.

I am a huge fan of prayer when expressed sincerely. The more heart expressed within the prayer the further it goes up the pipe so to speak.

This type of issue regarding mental health has so many layers so it's really difficult to give a simple fix. Perhaps look into grounding your energy (just google it) try eating certain foods and nutrients that help build yourself up, certain crystals that could help in a mental capacity way.

As a healer, I would also encourage some kind of mental imagery that would stabilise your energy in someway.

Lots of things you can do it's just complexed and difficult to know where to start isn't it.

I wish you well ..

OK - too many suggestions that might not be the best for you. We dunno.
Best wishes, Ervin. We just can't be offering ideas to you - I hope you understand.
I'm leaving what is here, tho, hoping some were good. :)
