Why is belief wrong?

Hello this is Nobody.
I would like to tell you a story if I can.
This story is for me called the man and the mountain. I would like to say that I have told this story and people were really offended by this. I am so sorry if this is in anyway an offence to you. I have been told by people I have insulted them is a way that is incomprehensible to them, and you know what. It's their fault. I haven't said anything here that isn't insanely reassured by me.

Originally, I do not know where this came from. I read that this story predates Judaism with the Israelites. The story over the time has been told by the Shaolin Priests now, for thousands of years. It opens my eyes to so much I was missing. Also, the journey in the story, there is more than one mountain, and the story doesn't say anything about that. The story is not exact as the first, but it is truly the best I can do.

THE MAN AND THE MOUNTAIN

Once upon a time there was a young man growing up in a small village by a mountain. Everyday walking to school he saw the mountain in the distance. As he grew from boy to young man and his parents died. He took over his parents' home and became a doctor. But each day he sat and wondered as he did all of his life what it would be like to climb that mountain and see out from the top down to this little village. He would dream and his wanderings would imagine what he could see from there.

The once young man has become older, life is slowing down, and as he sits having his morning tea, he stares the mountain down saying today is the day. Finishing his tea, he gets a small pack provision and a walking stick and treks out on a short journey to the bottom of the mountain.

On his way he sees a traveler and asks the traveler if he had climbed that mountain and if he did, did he see out from the top? The traveler with a smile tells the older man that he did and what he saw from the top and tells him in detail about his journey. But the traveler said he climbed, and his way was stony. The older man doesn't like walking on stones and tells the traveler he could fall break his leg, and he tells the traveler he will find another way. Thanking the traveler for the detailed information he continues on but it isn't long that he finds another traveler and this traveler too has climb the mountain. The older man asks the same questions, and the traveler tells the older man everything, but this traveler's way was sandy, and it was very hard getting a footing. The older man hearing this doesn't like the sound of sliding on sand as he could slide off the mountain to him death. Thanking the traveler the older man says he must find another way and continues on towards the base of the mountain.
he meets 43 more travelers all of them having taken the journey all of them tell the older man in detail of there climb and what they each had seen from the top. Each story had conflict and seems very hard, each way they traveled some had to climb some had to swim or swing or jump. The older man after hearing all these stories say's. “I DON'T HAVE TO GO ANYMORE.”
he believes that with all these stories he doesn't need to make the journey he believes everything. So, he turned around and went home.

Ladies and Gentlemen
Why is believing wrong?

I am talking about the big belief system okay. Not talking "I believe I will have some milk and cookies" type of believing.

The man in this story is a believer a big believer. I do not believe in anything at all. I know that sounds sick, but you do not understand. Why is the man in the story going to die ignorant in life? Yes, very ignorant and he is a doctor.

The answer: The man in the story misses the journey. The journey is clarity. Clarity is the key. Not belief, billions die with only belief. That is all they have. Think about it. I am a mother I have children. When I was a girl someone told me babies come from huge flying birds. I believe it. Then I grew and my beliefs started changing. Then I had children of my own. When my youngest daughter asks, “Mom, where do babies come from?” Do I lie? If I the mother have clarity in this topic, I should not begin this conversation with. “Well, honey I believe it may be like this ….” Or do I say, “honey you came out from inside of mommy in a hospital.” I explain, why, so my daughter can grow clear not ignorant. I know, this is hard to reach out and get a hold of.

What happens to beliefs in life? They change guys. They change because a belief is just a theory. Nothing more. there is no clarity in belief. None whatsoever.

You see, why should I believe in what some tells me when I have seen it, tasted it, felt it, breathed it, talked to it. Why do I need belief? No one should ever believe in anything, you need not. It is a trap that leads only to ignorance as only clarity leads to truth.

Did you like the story? You may not understand about belief yet and that is okay. Try to experience things and then relate those experiences to others. When you do, you are not telling them this is what you believe but this is what you know. I love you. Please take care of each other. May my brother Yeshua ever guide you to clarity in your lifes journey. ישוע שלי מדריך אותך לבהירות

I don't see why anyone would be offended by your post at all,
I have a quote that I use a lot it was a plaque made by my late friends son.
He was away fighting in the war,
he made a plaque out of wood with a drawing of a mountain and it said dont look at your Mountain climb it.
my friend always had it hung up one day she looked at it and she thought she saw a sunburst on top of the mountain,
so I said to her he is showing you the way two days later he was killed,

What you name belief is only information.

Believing is crucial for any mountain you want to climb.

Belief addresses mind, offering not heart the taste of possible truth stated.

People around here are pretty forgiving...

as far as the topic, did you know the situation was created this way, specifically so people would be locked out of certain experiences that can be had? There are certain valleys, people aren't supposed to go in them. So the unending stream of beliefs about what it is 'best' to experience next keeps people endlessly shuttled off to other places instead of making trouble....

(it is called barring the entry to eden)

i liked your comment about other mountains too, in math it is called 'local maximums' or something like that I think. I have a picture in my mind I saw once of a graph of that. Idea being, if you think there is only one mountain and only go up it you get stuck with a certain elevation, but if you go down first you have a chance of finding a higher mountain elsewhere lol...

While we understand the message and nuances and also believe beliefs may be superstition also if not backed by reality/logic, quoted statement too is a belief which can be wrong.

What is better Belief or clarity?
Think about it. What would you rather have? This is why I believe in nothing. It is very hard to understand. Every belief in my life is gone and has been replaced by clarity.
Do you still believe in Santa? Why not it is a strong belief, yet it is a lie. Why? Should I believe, I can climb, or should I be better than that and know I can climb.

When I was 8 or 9 my elementary school had given each class an assignment and then we would meet in a few hours in the auditorium after lunch to give our answers. Each class had something different. All were wishes. If you had one wish to give to you parents, what would it be. If you had one wish for your best friend, what would it be. Our class had “If you had one wish for the world what would it be?” I said to myself this is easy and knew right away. Lunch time came and went I heard kids talking about saying they would wish everyone had a bike. We are in the auditorium and our class is being called up on stage. People are pushing to be first in line and as we line up, I got pushed to the back of the line. “Well, this is awful.” I thought as my answer is going to be repeated so many times, I am going to look dumb when it is my turn to talk into the mic. Brothers and sisters no one said it. I was getting closer and closer, and no one is saying it. Love was the number one answer, is that stupid or what. Love is fleeting in this world. To say, “I wish for love,” is childish but then we were like 8 or 9. I got up to the mic and said “Clarity.” the grownups are looking at me like I said, “I wish Satan were our God.” They didn't get it at all. Seriously teachers are mouthing the words “WHAT DID HE JUST SAY!” I thought they were going to pull me off the stage and drag me to the office.
If I could give the world clarity, peace and love, even bikes and all that other stuff these kids said would happen and stay not go away. You see if we all had clarity we would evolve and thus everything we need will and would be possible. I am 8 or 9 years old, and no one gets me, no one. Clarity, don't you get it? Clarity is life. Ignorance is death. I knew that at 5 years old.

The reason this has gotten me in trouble is people love beliefs it is like you need them in your lives for some reason. Because clarity for me comes to me before beliefs do. For most humans' belief is first and clarity is seldom obtained. As a child you believe and believe but as an adult we should be evolving and that is just not possible with belief. What I am saying here is not belief it is clarity and unless you have taken the journey, or you are on a journey belief has no place in life if you are seeking clarity.

Oh, and I often say ...Knowing is better than belief...
and blind faith can be 'sweet', I guess...but wouldn't you rather 'know'?

Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death by daily riding in the balloon of God-perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you may quickly behold yourself as the Infinite Essence, free from every form of misery. ~Paramahansa's Guru's Guru
